Every year there seems to a be new “superfood” that hits the market and health food stores graciously ride the wave until the next one comes out. First there was the wheatgrass rage, then goji berries, then acai berries, then kale, then…well, what the heck is a superfood anyway? And if they are really so super then why does there seem to be a new one coming out every few months that is apparently way better than anything else, ever?
I have been practicing yoga on and off since I was a teenager living here in Dubai. I was fortunate to learn from an established Indian Yogi (actually a husband and wife team) and from that very first class, I absolutely fell in love with it. I walked out feeling so alive and elated while strangely enough even though I was very much a young girl, it didn’t feel that new to me. I believe that I must have practiced this ancient technique in another time and place…possibly another lifetime? After all, it did originate over 15,000 years ago. Anything is possible.

Since I’ve my had my three wonderful children, they make it really easy to laugh… a lot.

Once I discovered the therapeutic effect of colors, I removed all black clothing from my closet ever since. ( Art class refresher, black is the absence of color) If you open my wardrobe, it’s filled with beautiful colors of the rainbow and every shade in between. It’s so cheerful and fun! When I wake up in the morning, I intuitively chose what I am going to wear based on what color I feel I need for the day.
I am so excited to write that I have been officially meditating for over seven years now. And maybe even unofficially for many years before that, I just didn’t realize it was meditation. I believe this practice of going inward has been pivotal in my many transformations and in understanding who I really am. In essence, discovering my inner beauty!
Despite the misconceptions, meditating is quite simple and does not necessarily require a specific level of spiritual enlightenment in order to practice or incorporate it into your life. more “How to Meditate Like a Pro – 5 Easy Techniques”
