Meditation is My Middle Name

I was introduced to meditation when I started yoga classes at the tender age of 18 (yes, just a young punk now that I look back lol). The whole process of the physical movement of yoga postures along with the moments of inward silence really resonated with me and always left me feeling refreshed and completely re-engergized.  Even at such a young age, I think a part of me knew that I had managed to stumble on a gold mine of a technique that could potentially unleash my super powers. Over the years, I have come to learn about the never ending list of physical, mental, emotional (and did I mention anti-aging?) benefits that comes a lot with that feel good burst of energy.

This initial experience with meditation was probably the trigger that led me to become the Holistic Therapist and Trainer that I am today. And for that I am ever so grateful.

Reputable and respected scientific and medical organizations have conducted so many studies on the effects of mediation on us human beings, and the positive implications of just a few minutes of mindfulness a day are over whelming, to name a few:

  • Lowers high blood pressure
  • Lowers the levels of blood lactate, reducing anxiety attacks
  • Decreases any tension-related pain, such as, tension headaches, ulcers, insomnia, muscle and joint problems
  • Increases serotonin production that improves mood and behavior (the happy chemical!)
  • Improves the immune system
  • Increases the energy levels and even brain matter! (what really? yes)
  • Better memory recall
  • Assists in faster cell regeneration and repair, i.e. look younger and feel it too
  • Reliefs stress related symptoms

With regular practice of meditation:

  • Anxiety and worries fade
  • Emotional stability improves
  • Creativity increases (problem solving skills, artistic abilities, etc)
  • Happiness increases
  • Intuition and focus develops
  • Better clarity and peace of mind
  • Problems become smaller, i.e. shift of perspective
  • Meditation sharpens the mind by gaining focus and expands through relaxation
