Refreshing Thirst Quincher: Infused Water Recipes

I’ve been creating different combinations of infused waters over the years not realizing how beneficial they are to the body…I just thought it made the water look prettier and more appetizing, especially when a friend would come by the house to visit!  It was something I could do in just a few minutes time and it looked like I spent so much time making it.

Be sure to watch my special YouTube Video for Duniati Network for a complete demo with my little princess…

Then suddenly it became the latest craze health trend in the US to have infused waters with different herb, fruits and even vegetables with the special bottles to go along with it. I then understood that lots of the nutrients from the ingredients inside were mixing with the water making it the healthiest drink around!  No sugar, no preservatives and it’s a great way to make sure you get your 2 liters of water a day at least.

Here are some easy recipes that I really enjoy and each one can assist in addressing a specific area of concern. To get the maximum effects, it’s best to allow the water to infuse for a few hours before drinking.

Detox Water

1 Lemon peeled and sliced (the rind make the water bitter if you leave in the fridge for more than a day)

1 Cucumber sliced

1 Bunch of Mint

Place in a jug of plain water, or even sparkling water, and ice if you like for a hot day or after a good workout at the gym. The lemon helps to detox the body while the mint is great to aid in digestion. Cucumber is just amazing on it’s own, I could live on them…so refreshing.

Beauty Water

Strawberries (around a handful)

1 Bunch of fresh Basil

Place in a jug of fresh water, or sparkling water, and enjoy!  Allow this mix to sit for a few hours to get the beautiful color and sweetness from the strawberries to come through.  This combination of strawberries and basil works wonders for the skin (full of antioxidants that give you youth and vitality), in particular acne or breakout prone skin.

Weight Release Water

1 Grapefruit sliced (remove the rind if you plan to keep in the fridge for more than a day)

1 Bunch of Rosemary

Place in a jug of water and allow to rest for a few hours for the optimum effect.  This is perfect if you are working on a weight release regime, the combination of grapefruit and rosemary will help you to boost your metabolism while encouraging more water intake to help with any water retention ( the more water your drink the less water retention you will have!)
