4 DIY Body Scrubs so Yummy, You Can Eat Them!

Ok, I admit it. I have been a fan of pampering myself for as long as I can remember. Who isn’t?  And I have bought literally thousands of products over the years from face creams, body scrubs, shower gels, cream hair removals, even nail polishes.. you name it, I have probably used it at some point!

When I was pregnant with my first child, I became more aware of what I was eating and what I was slathering, scrubbing, washing, painting, applying on my face and body.  Once I started to research the contents of these kinds of products, I was shocked at the high level of chemical and toxic substances used in almost every product I had in my home. If you read the ingredients list (if you can understand what any of them mean!) on almost any store bought or even premium brand beauty and hygienic product, you will discover that not only is it filled with chemical preservatives in order to maintain a longer shelf life but it also contain plenty of toxic substances that should not be in or on your body.

Our skin is our largest organ that absorbs around 60%, if not all, of what ever is placed on it and goes straight into the blood stream. This includes perfumes, dyes, chemicals, minerals, vitamins, contaminants, etc. Being more conscientious of what you are rubbing on your body is definitely the way to go.

So that’s when I happily made the shift over to a more natural approach to my pampering routine. And the experiments in the kitchen began!

These are some simple, easy body scrubs that you can make from ingredients that many of you may already have in your kitchen.  They are made from natural materials,  do wonders for the skin and body and smell (and taste!) absolutely delicious. Yummm.
