My Fountain of Youth…Juice

Most people find it hard to believe that I am in my 30s and already a mother of 3 beautiful children.  I have quite a few beauty and anti-aging secrets up my sleeve yet there is one in particular that stands out…and has almost instantaneous effects!  I call it my Fountain of Youth Juice and, yes, there are plenty of green juices recipes out there but I have experimented enough over the years to have a definite winner.  This juice will get you feeling and looking youthful again in no time.

I start my mornings with a glass of room temperature water with the juice of a whole lemon on an empty stomach (I will tell you more about this is another post). Then I juice all the ingredients in my juicer (aim for a high quality machine for better extraction of nutrients of the fruits and vegetables) and drink it right away.  It’s always best to drink your homemade juices as soon as you’ve juiced them. As a rule of thumb the longer you keep your juices once you’ve made them, the less the nutrients will be maintained to nourish your body.

My Fountain of Youth juice is my breakfast and immediately I feel energized, focused and ready to start the day.

My Fountain of Youth Juice recipe:

  • Big Bunch of Kale ( a superfood )
  • Big Bunch of Spinach or other greens ( such as parsley, coriander, wheat grass, etc)
  • 2 Small Cucumbers (I eat lots of these every day)
  • 1 Carrot
  • 1 Stick of Celery
  • 1 Green Apple (this is necessary to give it the yummy taste)
  • Thumb size piece of Ginger (too much will make the juice quite potent!)

Why does my Fountain of Youth Juice work?

  1. It’s packed with chlorophyll, the green color that is the “life force” in plants that is produced in photosynthesis. It has wonderful detoxing effects, packed with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, promotes regeneration of the body cells and healthy iron levels in the blood.
